Most questions have a faster answer than an email, so this page starts with those and ends with how to reach a person.

Before you write

• How something works. The guides are written per kind of user -- member, mess manager, and the platform roles -- and describe what is built rather than what is planned.
• A figure looks wrong. Ask your mess manager first. Meal counts, bazaar approvals, utility amounts and the monthly close are all things your own manager controls; nobody operating this platform can change a number inside your mess.
• You cannot sign in. Use forgot password. If the reset message does not arrive, check the address you registered with -- an unverified address is the usual cause.
• You want to see it first. The live demo needs no account.

If you are reporting a security problem

Please write privately rather than posting anywhere public, and include enough detail to reproduce it: the URL, what you sent, what came back. Do not test against another mess's data -- a report describing a hole is welcome, and reading somebody's household finances to prove it is not.

What to include so the first reply is useful

1. The email address or username on the account.
2. The name of your mess, if the question is about one.
3. The screen you were on, and what you expected instead.
4. The month, if it is about a figure -- a closed month and an open one behave differently.

Never include your password. Nobody operating this platform will ask you for it.
